The Ultrasound Department of Beijing Ditan Hospital has 22 consultation rooms and an independent "Ultrasound Contrast and Intervention Evaluation Clinic". Its services cover routine ultrasound examinations for various body systems, as well as specialized ultrasound examinations in certain areas, including abdominal, obstetrics and gynecology, adult and fetal cardiovascular, superficial, gastrointestinal and other subdisciplines. Particularly in the ultrasound diagnosis and treatment of liver and liver related diseases, the Department has developed distinct professional strengths and features, and is in a leading position in China. The Department's services cover transient elastography and shear wave elastography, non-invasive assessment of liver fibrosis and steatosis, dynamic monitoring of chronic liver disease, ultrasound-guided interventional diagnosis and treatment, and contrast-enhanced ultrasound, which meets comprehensive ultrasound diagnostic and therapeutic needs of various clinical liver diseases.

In the past five years, the Department has undertaken more than 10 scientific research projects, including provincial- and ministerial-level research projects, published over 30 SCI and core journal papers, participated in the compilation of 4 works, and obtained nearly 10 authorized national patents. In 2024, the Department launched the "Yaoguang Remote Ultrasound Comprehensive Platform" under the Medical Prevention-Fusion Digital Imaging Alliance of the National Center for Infectious Disease(Beijing), enhancing the standardization of ultrasound care nationwide. Since 2000, the Department has annually hosted the national level continuing education project "Beijing Ditan Ultrasonic Diagnosis and Treatment Workshop for Liver and Liver-related Diseases" and the Beijing municipal continuing education project "Beijing Ditan Ultrasonic Diagnosis and Treatment Workshop for Infectious Diseases", while also providing training for domestic ultrasound physicians.
