As a national-level key clinical specialty, the Department of Neurosurgery is deeply integrated with the Department of Neurology, jointly establishing a modern Neurological Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center (Neuro Center) that synergizes clinical care, education, and research into a unified framework. Leveraging its disciplinary strengths as a member unit of the National Center for Infectious Diseases, the Department has forged a strategic collaboration with the National Center for Neurological Disorders (Beijing Tiantan Hospital). Through complementary expertise and resource sharing, the two are committed to building a benchmark National Dual-Center Model for interdisciplinary innovation, with a focus on overcoming diagnostic and therapeutic challenges in cross-disciplinary fields such as neuroinfectious diseases.

Guided by the principles of precision and minimally invasive therapy, the Department implements a comprehensive attending physician responsibility system and has developed a multidimensional clinical platform centered on microsurgical techniques and integrated with interventional therapy, endoscopic surgery, stereotactic navigation, and neuromodulation technologies. Performing over 1,000 surgical procedures annually, the Department has established distinctive expertise in precision resection of intracranial tumors, minimally invasive management of cerebrovascular diseases, integrated diagnosis and treatment of spinal and spinal cord disorders, and personalized therapy for neuroinfectious diseases.
