The Department of Anesthesiology of Beijing Ditan Hospital was established in 1993. With the rapid development of the hospital, the Department has consistently pursued integrated advancements in clinical practice, education, and research, leading to continuous improvements in clinical expertise and disciplinary development. Equipped with state-of-the-art medical devices, cutting-edge anesthesia and pain management technologies, and a standardized management system, the Department is committed to providing patients with safe, precise, and comfortable perioperative care. It has become a vital platform for multidisciplinary collaboration in diagnosis and treatment, as well as emergency and critical care.

The Department covers anesthesia services for surgeries across various surgical disciplines, including specialized subgroups such as obstetric anesthesia, neurosurgical anesthesia, anesthesia for interventional procedures, and comfort medical anesthesia. Its pain management services include the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain disorders and multimodal analgesia for perioperative acute pain. Over the years of dedicated practice, the Department has developed distinctive expertise in craniofacial pain management, advanced cancer pain relief, and neuropathic pain therapy.

In recent years, the Department has led multiple research projects, published nearly 100 SCI-indexed papers and core journal articles, and authored or co-authored over 10 Anesthesiology Textbooks. Additionally, it has spearheaded the development of industry guidelines and expert consensus documents and secured several national patents.
