International Medical Department
The International Medical Department (formerly General Department) is one of China's earliest medical departments providing international medical services. Long adhering to the philosophy of "holistic patient care addressing both physical-and-mental health," IMD manages diverse conditions with a focus on hepatitis, cirrhosis, and related complications caused by various etiologies (viral, alcoholic, drug-induced, autoimmune disorders, metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease), while also treating other internal medicine diseases. It has developed distinctive expertise in personalized antiviral therapy for chronic hepatitis B/C, precision diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune liver diseases, and prevention/management of osteoporosis in chronic liver disease patients. The medical team possesses extensive experience in international healthcare services, implementing an "Attending Physician Responsibility System." This three-tiered clinical structure—comprising attending physicians, associate attending physicians, and resident physicians—along with comprehensive nursing teams, delivers full-cycle care encompassing prevention, treatment, and post-discharge follow-up. IMD also undertakes critical national and municipal public medical missions, including major event healthcare support and medical aid programs to Xinjiang.
Integrating medical services, scientific research, education, and talent development, IMD boasts a high-caliber professional team. It has led multiple national key projects including the Major Infectious Disease Initiatives of the 11th, 12th, and 13th Five-Year Plans, as well as High-Level Health Talent Programs of the Beijing Municipal Health Commission and "Cultivation" and "Seedling" Talent Projects of the Beijing Municipal Health Commission. Academic achievements include publishing over 20 high-impact SCI-indexed papers and authoring/contributing to more than 10 clinical and basic research monographs on hepatology.
