Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Beijing Ditan Hospital

The ICU was established in 1996. Thanks to its strong diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities in critical care medicine, the ICU holds dual accreditation as a National Clinical Key Specialty and Beijing Municipal Clinical Key Specialty. Affiliated with Capital Medical University, it serves as a premier training base for doctoral and master's candidates in intensive care medicine. 

Clinical Capabilities 

Equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, the multidisciplinary ICU delivers advanced monitoring and life support for critically ill patients across all disciplines, including internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics, and pediatrics. As a regional referral center for complex critical illnesses, the ICU has a 24/7 multidisciplinary team consisting of intensivists, critical care nurses, and other specialists. Core competencies include:

* Management of Multi-organ failure syndromes (e.g., sepsis and septic shock, acute respiratory distress syndrome, hepatic/renal failure, and various coma states).

* Advanced life support modalities include: Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), Targeted hemodynamic monitoring and optimization, and hybrid blood purification techniques (plasma exchange, hemoperfusion, and artificial liver support).

Pandemic Response Expertise

As the critical care department of the Nation Center for Infectious Disease(Beijing), Renowned for its pivotal role in public health crises, the ICU has successfully managed high-profile infectious disease outbreaks, including: SARS (2003), Severe influenza A (H1N1), Avian influenza (H5N1/H7N9), Hand-foot-mouth disease, severe CNS infections, and other severe infection diseases.
