Nephrology Department
The Renal Dialysis Unit of Beijing Ditan Hospital was established in 1988. The Nephrology Department was formally established in 2011. The Department integrates outpatient services, inpatient wards, and a Blood Purification Center. In recent years, the Department has contributed to publications such as Clinical Case Compendium of Infectious Diseases and authored Case Studies of Infectious Endocrine and Renal Disorders. Its academic achievements include over 20 publications in Chinese core journals, 5 SCI-indexed papers, 3 authorized patents, and leading 2 research projects.
Equipped with 43 dialysis machines, the Blood Purification Center is China's largest dialysis facility specializing in bloodborne infectious diseases. It routinely performs hemodialysis, hemoperfusion, hemodiafiltration, and continuous bedside blood purification therapy. The Center leads nationally in hospital infection prevention and control for bloodborne diseases, care of maintenance hemodialysis patients, ultrasound-guided vascular access establishment/maintenance, and anticoagulation management for high-risk patients with coagulopathy.
The Department specializes in diagnosing and treating infection-related kidney diseases, hypertensive nephropathy, diabetic nephropathy, and managing chronic kidney disease. It demonstrates expertise in renal replacement therapy for acute/chronic renal failure, and independently provides the establishment and maintenance of vascular access for renal dialysis.
