Overview

As the main institution of the National Center for Infectious Diseases(Beijing), Beijing Ditan Hospital possesses prominent advantages in disciplinary development and scientific research platforms. We host 5 National Key Clinical Specialties, 3 Key Specialties and Key Disciplines under the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, along with multiple national and municipal-level key laboratories and research platforms, including National Major Infectious Disease Prevention and Treatment Base, National Clinical Research Quality Evaluation and Promotion Center (Infectious Diseases), National Key Laboratory of Intelligent Tracking and Forecasting for Infectious Diseases, Beijing Key Laboratory of Viral Infectious Diseases, Beijing Biobank of Clinical Resources (BBCR), In terms of talent development, the hospital has assembled a high-caliber medical research team comprising numerous distinguished experts, including recipients of the State Council Government Special Allowance, Changjiang Scholars of the Ministry of Education, National Natural Science Fund for National Excellent Youth Fund, and Beijing Natural Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars. In recent years, the hospital has made significant progress in scientific research, transformation of scientific achievements, platform construction, and clinical trials. These accomplishments have significantly enhanced our research capabilities and innovative capacity, making substantial contributions to the advancement of infectious disease prevention and control measures.

Over the past five years, the hospital has demonstrated strong research capabilities, securing 323 funded scientific projects with a total budget exceeding 230 million yuan, including more than 80 major national-level research initiatives. The hospital has achieved remarkable academic output in medical journals at all levels, publishing 894 SCI-indexed scientific papers. Notably, its numerous COVID-19-related articles have been published in top international medical journals (including NEJM, Lancet, JAMA, Nature, Cell, etc.), with a cumulative impact factor of 4804.869. The hospital has produced 44 high-quality SCI articles with impact factors above 10 and published 85 academic monographs. The hospital has led or participated in 22 award-winning achievements including the Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award, the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, and the Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Award. Additionally, the hospital has obtained 133 granted patents (comprising 51 invention patents and 9 international patents) and completed 8 technology transfer projects.
